Job Summary:

We seek a full-time, new, or experienced physician assistant to join our collaborative neurosurgery team at LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

Qualified Candidates:

+ Must be a lawful permanent resident or legal member of the US

+ Must be a certified or board-eligible physician assistant

+ Provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with other physicians and dedicated patient care teams

+ Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop, and implement individualized care plans, and ability to educate patients

+ Excellent clinical and communication skills

+ Ability to obtain a VA medical license, and DEA license

About our practice and culture:

+ ​​​Variety of neurosurgical services, including cranial, complex spine, trauma, and pain neurosurgery.

+ Mixture of inpatient and outpatient responsibilities, averaging 3 days per week in the operating room as the surgical first assistant and 2 days per week in the clinic.

+ Robust, collaborative team that embraces learning and development of comprehensive neurosurgical skill sets physician assistants are given independence commensurate with their skill level, and physician supervision is made readily available by our interested and engaged surgeons.
