Youth Engagement Specialist
Job Status : Part-time, 30 hrs/wk.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am to 2pm
Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable youth and young adults on their journey to stability and wellness? Join our team at the HOST Resource Center as a Youth Engagement Specialist and make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness, aged 18–24.
As a Youth Engagement Specialist, you’ll be the first point of contact for youth accessing the Resource Center—building trust, offering critical basic services, and connecting them to life-changing resources. You’ll create a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment while actively contributing to the daily operations of the center.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Associate’s degree with education in psychology, sociology, human development, education, criminal justice, behavioral health, or related field. Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred in the fields listed above.
+ A combination of three years' relevant work, education or experience in mental health, addictions and/or social services field.
+ Familiar with developmental, emotional, physical, mental, and chemical dependency issues faced by at-risk youth.
+ Competency in a multi-cultural environment.
+ Knowledge of local community resources and support systems are a plus.

HOST stands for Health, Outreach, Shelter, and Transitions. Our Resource & Engagement Center provides basic needs and support services for youth and young adults. We offer a safe space for support with setting goals, planning for their futures, and connecting to community resources. A warm, safe place to sleep, access to healthcare and resources, and mentorship play a big role in ensuring our future leaders can live healthy lifestyles and leave a positive impact on our community.
