The University of Miami Health System, Miller School of Medicine is initiating a search for a Hepatologist at the Assistant /Associate Professor of Medicine level .

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

+ Provide direct outpatient care to Hepatology patients primarily at the University of Miami Hospital and Clinics

+ Perform routine endoscopic services on Hepatology patients

+ Provide inpatient care, on a rotating basis on a APP run Hepatology Service

+ Participate in on call rotation

+ There are opportunities to initiate and participate in clinical research studies

+ Teaching of residents and fellows

DESIRED QUALIFIATIONS:

+ MD/DO Degree

+ ACGME US Internal Medicine residency

+ BE/BC in Internal Medicine

+ BE/BC in Gastroenterology

+ BE/BC in Transplant Hepatology encouraged

+ Valid unrestricted Florida Medical License or eligible to apply (must have license prior to credentialing)

+ Must be able to provide prerequisite case logs for procedures for prior two years for credentialing

+ Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques

+ Must maintain CME to meet institutional and state licensing requirements

+ Must have excellent clinical knowledge and experience to provide safe and quality care to patients and meet institutional standards of care

+ Current BLS certification required . ACLS

+ Valid DEA licensure
