The Center for Donation and Transplant Quality Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of clinical and reportable data. This includes clinical data in the referral electronic medical record for all donor and referral records, and validation of associated reports. The Quality Specialist will work with the supervision of management and partner with CDT staff to ensure timely completion of data entry in support of industry timelines. The Quality Specialist will also assist management in reviewing and assuring all documentation and reporting meet the standards set by the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN) regulatory agencies. The Quality Specialist will serve as a Q-Pulse super-user and will prepare applicable education material to keep staff in understanding of requirements and functions of Q-Pulse. The Quality Specialist will also assist in the maintenance of Q-Pulse Training Events and theof the People Module Training Plan. In addition, the Quality Specialist will work with CDT staff on quality improvement projects as necessary to support the organization’s mission, including assisting Hospital Development with referral data needs.

1. Verify accuracy and completeness of electronic referral data weekly to ensure compliance with AOPO, CMS, and OPTN regulatory standards.
2. Run weekly SQL Referral Review report in the absence of the Applications Specialist.
3. Attend post case quality assurance review to verify accuracy and completeness of donor electronic chart data within five days of donor recovery; ensure compliance with AOPO, CMS, and OPTN regulatory standards.
4. Assist in ensuring that the clinical donor and referral EMR is complete and accurate on a weekly basis. Notify and, if necessary, assist CDT staff members with clinical data entry as required.
5. Attend weekly CQI meetings; report QA related issues as required.
6. Assist with ensuring appropriate documentation is maintained in donor electronic chart on an on-going basis.
7. Assist with ensuring all donor charts are complete, including import organ charts and consented-not-recovered charts, to accurately reflect chart status and includes required metrics.
8. Assist with chart completion progress data to record chart correction statistics and trend any issues.
9. Report weekly PTR/DDR/feedback due dates (to be shared with clinical and quality staff) in the absence of the Applications Specialist.
10. Assist management with validation of OPTN, CMS, SRTR, and other industry data to correctly reflect CDT donor and referral activity.
11. Assist management with internal and external ad hoc audits as needed.
12. Develop and review/edit, as necessary, job-specific SOPs and guidelines
13. Complete a quarterly Hospital Development DRR audit. Findings will be shared with Hospital Development staff and recorded in Q-Pulse.
14. Assist with Hospital Development death record reviews (DRR), and other data, as needed.
15. Validate CDT reports to ensure validity of CDT data for community presentations, board presentations, or other venues as needed.
16. Assist with maintaining the Q-Pulse Training Plan and reports in Report Designer to effectively reflect training status.
17. Work with the management to ensure all Documents added to Q-Pulse are in the correct format using CDT’s internal guidelines.
18. Provide general Q-Pulse maintenance, if needed.
19. Provide back-up data reporting for CDT’s Application Specialist, when needed, utilizing guidelines developed by the Application Specialist.
20. Additional Quality tasks, as assigned.
