Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Director of Nursing Education. The Education Director is responsible for the leadership, design, coordination, and oversight of the hospital’s educational initiatives, including orientation, professional development, compliance training, and support of clinical education programs. This role supports organizational objectives by fostering a culture of continuous learning and promoting excellence in clinical practice and patient care.
What you’ll do day to day:
+ Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs and content for clinical staff while maintaining the Learning Management System and conducting needs assessments to address skill gaps.
+ Collaborate with department managers, HR, other education stakeholders, and the CNO on learning initiatives, student placements, and budget development.
+ Provide leadership to clinical educators, participate in policy development, and maintain expertise in adult learning principles and healthcare education best practices.
Qualifications and Expectations
+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Education required; Master's degree preferred
+ Active Registered Nurse license in Vermont or a compact multi-state RN license
+ Minimum five years of clinical experience, including two years in education or staff development
+ Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire
+ Nursing Professional Development Certification preferred
