Industrial Multi-Craft Mechanic (Ames, IA)

The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs an Industrial Multi-Craft Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

+ Completing all maintenance service requests as assigned

+ Executing maintenance work to maintain efficient operations maintain, install, remove, construct, and repair facility and equipment.

+ Upkeep of the facility’s manufacturing equipment and other related physical assets.

+ Supporting installation and start-up of new production equipment

+ Maintains and repairs manufacturing equipment and facilities using knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and other related trades to ensure optimal operation

+ Achieves productivity goals and minimizes downtime through completion of preventative maintenance

+ Meets committed downtimes and turns equipment over those functions properly

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

+ Possess an associate’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in Industrial Technology, Robotics, Maintenance Automation, or Electrical Technology.

OR

+ High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed prior to start) AND three (3) years of mechanical and electrical industrial maintenance experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

+ Secondary education in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred

+ Ability to trouble shoot problems control related systems

Work location:

+ Ames, IA

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic

The starting rate of pay for this position is $35.47 and $36.47/hour. This targeted compensation range represents a good faith estimate and can vary based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
