    Position Overview:

    Treats and manages patients with breathing and lung disorders. Responsibilities include conducting breathing exams, measuring lung capacity, diagnosing conditions, developing treatment plans, administering oxygen therapy, and performing therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures. They provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory issues, exercising sound judgment and clinical skills to implement care plans based on diagnosis and physician orders. They gain confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers through competent assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication. Adhering to all regulations, codes, policies, and procedures ensures privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care. They may also perform specific procedures and orient other staff to the department

    EDUCATION:

    Other: Graduate of a two-year respiratory care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)

    CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

    RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner

     

    RRT-Registered Respiratory Therapist

     

    OR CRT-Certified Respiratory Therapist

     

    BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

    DEPARTMENT REQUIRED** **CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

    ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support

     

    PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support

    TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

    2 years of recent relevant experience.

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

    Knowledge of respiratory therapy principles, procedures, views, and equipment, including some experience responding to traumas and various hospital emergencies.

     

    Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

     

    Capable of performing routine or emergency respiratory care as well as a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

     

    Possess written and verbal communications skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences, including non-medical people.

     

    Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline.

     

    General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), electronic health records (EHR), and EPIC.

     

    Prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

     

    Work independently, as well as be part of the team, including accomplishing multiple tasks in an environment with interruptions.

     

    Identify, evaluate and resolve standard problems by selecting appropriate solutions from established options.

     

    Ensure the privacy of each patient’s protected health information (PHI).

     

    Build collaborates relationships with peers and other healthcare providers to achieve departmental and corporate objectives.

     

    Function effectively and perform this position in an emergency situation.

    Pay Range is $58.18 to $72.72 / hour

     

    _The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
