Overview

Kimley-Horn's Saint Paul, Minnesota (MN) office is seeking a Project Engineer with 15+ years of scheduling and estimating experience to join their Transit team!

Responsibilities

The Project Engineer will work on light rail and other type of infrastructure projects throughout the Twin Cities metro area and be responsible for supporting the owner in these tasks:

+ Negotiating and writing up change orders

+ Reviewing contractor’s cost (labor, equipment, and materials) and comparing it to the owner’s independent cost estimate (ICE)

+ Aligning scope and quantities

+ Negotiating final costs

+ Developing cost analysis

+ Creating detailed write-ups that include change order history, cost breakdown, etc.

+ Civil changes to: track, pavement, curb and gutter, utilities/drainage, bridges, soil corrections, stations, and more

Qualifications

+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management

+ Engineer with 15 or more years of related experience

+ Systems experience a plus but not required

+ Close attention to detail

+ Technical writing skills

+ Ability to follow procedures

+ Demonstrated ability to manage projects

+ Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization

Salary Range: $110,000 - $155,000
