    Position Summary:

    The Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a Half-time position in Electrical Engineering, to begin in August of 2024.

    The duties in this role include:

    + Teach 4 classes in an academic year or an equivalent to 16 credit hours.

    + Teach teach a variety of courses in Electrical Engineering.

    + Be available to mentor students outside of class (during office hours).

    + Stay current in the electrical engineering field.

    Basic qualifications are required at the time of application:

    + Applicants must have a master’s degree.

    + The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and be willing to teach a variety of courses in Electrical Engineering.

    + Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.

    Preferred qualifications (not required qualifications for the position):

    + A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field is preferred.

    + ABD or Master’s-qualified candidates with higher-education teaching experience will be considered.

    + Experience working with diverse student populations and communities is highly desirable.
