    Description We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with at least 5 years of detail oriented accounting experience to join a dynamic team in Ypsilanti. This role is 100% ONSITE in Ypsilanti, MI. Pay is up to $34/hr (based on experience).     The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to delivering high-quality financial results. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes.

    • Prepare and analyze financial reports, supporting management in budget assessments and decision-making.

    • Reconcile accounting discrepancies and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

    • Assist in the preparation of annual audits, including gathering and preparing relevant documents for auditors.

    • Conduct variance analysis and interpret financial data to provide actionable insights.

    • Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance purposes.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting and financial processes.

    • Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency within the accounting department.

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

    • Strong proficiency in accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.

    • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs.

    • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and collaborating with team members.

    • Proven organizational and time-management skills.

    Preferred:

    • Hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint, but not required.

    • Familiarity with industry accounting software and financial tools.

    • Experience in sectors such as manufacturing is a plus.
