    Job Title: Quality Control Technician

    Job Description

    The microbiology quality control/quality assurance professional will ensure that products and processes meet quality standards.

    Responsibilities

    + Examining materials, equipment, and products for quality.

    + Establishing and managing quality control systems.

    + Requesting the purchase of chemicals.

    + Ensuring that production methods comply with standards.

    + Compiling data to support the trending program.

    + Providing support to the quality assurance team.

    + Preparing batch records and labels, as well as issuing those batch records and labels.

    + Assisting with audits.

    + Conducting live testing.

    + Performing other tasks as needed.

    Essential Skills

    Work Environment

    While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. The employee is regularly exposed to microbiological pathogens up to biological safety level 2 (BSL2). The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to cold conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work hours are Friday to Sunday from 6am to 6:30pm onsite (37.5 hours). Training is Monday to Friday for a month with flexible shifts from 7:30am to 4:30pm or 8am to 5pm. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gowns and hair nets must be worn when working with raw materials. No heavy lifting is required (25lbs-50lbs).

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
