Hobart and William Smith Colleges is seeking an energetic and passionate individual committed to developing student leaders and creating compelling programs that integrate principles of leadership and innovation to successfully fill the role of Associate Director of the Centennial Center. The Centennial Center for Leadership is a creative and innovative space where the staff works closely with student leaders, faculty and staff, and alums. The Center’s primary mission is to develop student leaders who are creative and critical problem solvers in diverse real-world contexts.
Essential Responsibilities:
• Consult on, develop, and deliver content for our innovative leadership programs.
• Facilitate workshops, sessions, and trainings around primary topics for the Center.
• Teaching established leadership courses: theory, mentoring, and public speaking.
• Improve and develop data-informed, mission-driven programs to support students, particularly those focused on leadership, with Center staff and key stakeholders.
• Critique and revise metrics for program and Center success, especially around student retention, program effectiveness and impacts of Center changes.
• Develop relationships, collaborations, and partnerships across campus, locally, regionally, nationally, and/or internationally to further the goals of the Center.
• Cultivate student leadership roles on campus and across professional and local communities.
• Manage and support marketing, outreach and social media for our programs at the Center.
• Assist with recruitment and engagement of prospective students in collaboration with the HWS Office of Admissions.
• Collaborate with HWS Advancement and Career Services, possibly including developing a formalized alum network for the Center, to connect students with HWS alums for mentorship and leadership coaching.
• Manage and mentor student assistants/interns
• Continue to develop programs for tracking, evaluation, and program reporting.
Other Information:
This is a full-time, 12-month (10-month optional), benefits-eligible position. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. This position requires flexibility along with an ability and willingness to occasionally work nights and weekends as part of center events as well as those sponsored by other offices on campus including Admissions, Institutional Advancement, Campus Life, and others. Salary range is $65,000 - $70,000.
• At least 5 years of professional experience that can be applied in an educational environment.
• Master’s degree preferred in a related field required.
• Superior public speaking and networking skills.
• Superior organizational skills

With three graduate programs, students can build on their undergraduate degree with a Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership, Master of Arts in Teaching, or a Master of Science in Management.
