    The Department of Molecular Pathobiology of New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry and the NYU Pain Research Center seek to recruit outstanding post-doctoral fellows interested in studying the mechanisms of pain and neurogenic inflammation. Projects are available in areas of the structure and function of G protein-coupled receptors and receptor tyrosine kinases, compartmentalized signaling of receptors, neurophysiological and behavioral studies of pain, development of nanomedicine-based approaches to treat chronic pain, and translational studies of human nociceptors. Individuals with expertise in molecular pharmacology, cell signaling, and assessment of nociception are encouraged to apply.

     

    We seek to recruit early career investigators who are passionate about science and discovery, who will develop and lead new projects, and who are highly collaborative and collegial. You will join a stimulating and supportive environment. The NYU Pain Research Center is housed in a new building in Manhattan, providing state-of-the-art laboratories with expertise in multiple areas of pain biology. The Department of Molecular Pathobiology’s Team Science Initiative fosters career development of early career scientists.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

     

    To be eligible for appointment as a Post Doctoral Associate, applicants must have a PhD, MD or DDS degree and experience in cancer, neuroscience or related disciplines. Candidates should have the ability and motivation to work independently and to manage their research projects. Individuals who have outstanding publication records from their graduate or postgraduate work and a passion to better understand cancer-neural interactions are encouraged to apply.
