Position Overview
**Power Your Future with Qualus** as a Data Collection Tech with our Distribution Engineering department. The Data Collection Technician role is a dynamic and independent position that involves data entry, daily travel, and distribution equipment inspections. As a tech-savvy professional proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, the candidate will use a smartphone and/or tablet device to conduct visual analyses, capture photographs, and enter data into the mobile device, supporting critical distribution field data collection projects. This role is ideally suited for candidates with previous experience in meter reading or utility work. Situational awareness, map reading, and safety are essential skills, and a background in distribution would be a valuable asset.
This is a full-time, field-based role service the South Miami region (Cutler Bay and surrounding areas). A company vehicle is provided for all work-related travel.
Responsibilities
+ Complete detailed assessments of power utility distribution equipment that are accurate to the field conditions presented.
+ Accurately record data using correct standards such that the resulting analysis is clear and easily understood by office-based project personnel.
+ Communicate with the team to ensure consistency and accuracy in data collection procedures.
+ Utilize smartphones and/or tablets to collect and document relevant data accurately and efficiently.
+ Utilize GPS software and/or geospatial coordinates to navigate the assigned territory and client sites.
+ Correctly identify items to be documented in the field with minimal supervisory assistance.
+ Meets production targets and understands the importance of project deliverables and milestones.
+ Consistently follow safety protocols and participate in all safety initiatives.
+ Willingness to assist in power restoration efforts in natural disaster events.
+ Overnight travel may be required periodically.

Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
+ Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety protocols.
+ Detail-oriented with ability to perform accurate visual assessments.
+ Familiarity with power distribution equipment and utility environments.
+ Confident using smartphones, tablets, and basic computer software.
+ Clear, professional communication; able to represent the company well in the field.
+ Comfortable working independently and being customer-facing.
+ Willing to travel frequently within the service area, sometimes on short notice.
+ Able to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.
+ Valid driver's license with clean driving record; strong navigation skills.
+ Organized with good time management and task prioritization.
+ Meets background check and drug screening requirements.
+ Professional appearance and ethical conduct at all times.
The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
