• Resident Engineer/Construction Manager

    WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Full-Time Resident Engineer/Construction Manager** for our **Houston, Texas** office. Be involved in projects with our **CM Team** and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges

     

    Your Impact

    _Pre-construction phase:_

    + Assist in site selection and feasibility analysis

    + Conduct constructability reviews of design documents

    + Provide cost estimating and budget development

    + Help with bid package preparation and contractor selection

    + Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants

    _Construction phase:_

    + Monitor project progress against schedule and budget

    + Identify and manage potential risks

    + Review change orders and recommend approvals

    + Oversee quality control and safety compliance

    + Reviews project activities with client and contractor’s field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues

    + Oversees materials testing activities

    + Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation

    + Facilitate communication between the owner, design team, and contractors

    + Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings

    + Analyze project data to identify cost-saving opportunities

    + Provide recommendations for project adjustments as needed

    + Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

    + Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

    Who You Are

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience

    + Minimum of 10 years of relevant construction experience

    + A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents

    + Deep understanding of construction practices, building codes, and project delivery methods

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders

    + Proven experience in construction management, preferably with a focus on owner representation

    + Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed Civil Engineer or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
