Summary:

The Programming Languages and Runtime and devProd teams are part of the Infra organization at Meta, which is responsible for driving the servers and technologies that power the Meta family of products: AI/ML, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, AR/VR. We specialize in compilers, virtual machines, programming languages, and developer tools. Our work on compilers helps to make our data-centers run more efficiently and reduce our ecological footprint. Our work on programming languages and developer tools make our developers more efficient in their work. We lead company-wide infrastructure changes affecting 10s of thousands of developers daily. We contribute and collaborate with the Open Source community on many of our projects.

Required Skills:

Software Engineering Manager, PL&R Responsibilities:

1. Be a subject matter expert in the field of AI frameworks, developer tools, compilers, runtimes and virtual machines, or programming languages

2. Be both highly technical and an effective people manager

3. Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects of increasing dependencies in an ambiguous or high-impact area

4. Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy

5. Drive roadmap creation and execution

6. Collaborate with various functions, drive engineering initiatives and have an impact at an organizational level

7. Work with cross functional partners and stakeholders to set and achieve optimal outcomes

8. Partner with leadership to influence and drive organization design, contribution, and prioritization

Minimum Qualifications:

9. 5+ years of people management experience

10. 5+ years experience coding in one of the following languages: C++, Python, Rust, Java, Golang, PHP

11. Experience in: compilers, operating systems, computer architecture, performance analysis, or developer tooling

12. Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management

13. BA/BS in Computer Science or relevant field (In lieu of degree, 4+ years similar work experience)

14. Experience in programming language design, compiler optimization, or backend code generators

15. Experience in developer tooling, such as debuggers, profilers, typecheckers, or IDEs

16. Experience in AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow

17. Experience in GPU technologies, such as CUDA/ROCm libraries, Triton language, LLVM MLIR representation

18. Experience in Program Management: evaluating customer needs, defining viable products, developing a product strategy, and ensuring customer adoption

Public Compensation:

$177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
