    HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

    A Test Technician works as part of the Components Seals Assembly / Repairs Department. Performs repetitive duties to test and troubleshoot seals, and compile and record test results. Provides support to the assembly and repairs areas as required. This position requires safety shoes and shielded safety glasses. Reports to Assembly Supervisor or equivalent. Food and drinks are not allowed at work cells.

    WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

    • Follows oral and written procedures, routings, blueprints, and build schedules to test precision assemblies. • Works with minimal supervision, discussing technical problems with supervisor and Manufacturing Engineer. Interfaces with QC, Planners, and Machine Shop personnel to clarify day- to-day issues. • Uses a variety of test equipment: leak detectors and calypso test bench (high speed rotation, vacuum/pressure and torque testing). • Maintains a clean and safe work area consistent with clean room practices, and complies with the Company’s safety regulations. • Initiates improvements to tooling, test fixtures, testing processes, and data collection by communicating suggestions to supervisor and Manufacturing Engineer. • Utilizes business software system to execute routine job- related transactions / inquiries. • Provides support and back-up to assembly and repair production areas. • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business. • Achievement of objectives must include an over-riding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. • Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

    • H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years experience.

     

    PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS: • A typical day requires continuous sitting and/or standing in an office setting with occasional breaks. Standing and walking around 100k sq. ft. facility extensively throughout the day. • Able to comfortably lift 35 pounds without injury. • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like. • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces. • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods. • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 100 pounds in all directions. • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information. • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools. • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned. • Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures. • Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
