    Job Description

    David Weekley Homes, a progressive leader in the homebuilding industry and nationally recognized for award-winning designs, is seeking a Conceptual Designer with a passion for residential architecture to join our Design team designing concept sketches of single-family homes in a variety of styles across the country.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Design targeted state of the art production homebuilder product

    + Managing projects through the process

    + Program (product line) analysis

    + Competition analysis

    + Balancing design vs. cost per foot

    + Designing to a targeted price per foot

    Qualifications

    + 8-10 years designing original residential elevations and floor plans. Experience working with residential production design is preferred

    + Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field

    + Highly proficient in designing floor plans and elevations utilizing either freehand design or AutoCAD (or similar software program) Sketchup experience is a plus

    + Working knowledge of residential plans and construction drawings

    + Licensed Architect or someone who has completed the IDP program and is preparing to sit for the exam is a plus

    + An ideal candidate will possess the following essential soft skills: team player, excellent time and project management, problem solving, sense of urgency, creative, detail oriented, and a great deal of flexibility

    Work Location: This position is based at our headquarters in Houston, TX. Non-local candidates must be willing to relocate. We offer relocation assistance within the U.S. for this position.
