The Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end invoicing and cash application processes, managing onsite and remote team members, and designing efficient billing workflows. This role ensures the timely and accurate processing of invoices, maintains compliance with financial policies, and drives performance excellence by meeting KPIs and SLAs.
Billing Manager Role & Responsibilities
+ Invoicing & Cash Applications: Oversee the preparation and issuance of invoices, ensure timely and accurate cash application, and resolve any discrepancies.
+ Team Management: Lead and mentor a remote billing team, set clear expectations, provide performance feedback, and foster a collaborative work environment.
+ Process Design & Optimization: Develop, implement, and refine billing procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
+ KPI & SLA Management: Monitor key performance indicators, ensure billing operations meet service level agreements, and drive continuous improvement.
+ Reporting & Analysis: Generate financial reports, analyze billing trends, and present insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
+ Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with accounting, finance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless billing operations.
+ Technology Utilization: Leverage billing software and financial tools to automate processes, minimize errors, and increase productivity.
+ Issue Resolution: Identify and address billing concerns, implement corrective actions, and proactively manage risks.
Billing Manager Requirements
+ KNOWLEDGE: A minimum of (3) + years of billing management experience or related background, or a combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field is preferred.
+ SKILLS:
+ Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or financial management.
+ Strong leadership skills with experience in managing remote teams.
+ Expertise in invoicing, cash application, and financial reporting.
+ Knowledge of billing software and ERP systems (SAGE300 is a plus).
+ Analytical mindset with the ability to drive process improvements.
+ Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
+ Familiarity with compliance regulations related to billing and finance.
