MFD is committed to identifying and prosecuting fraud against the state’s $20 billion Medicaid program and investigating allegations of fraud against the state Medicaid program and allegations of abuse, neglect, and misappropriation of funds occurring in long-term care facilities and from Medicaid members in health care settings. MFD has both criminal and civil enforcement authority and works in partnership with both federal and state law enforcement agencies. _Primary Duties_:The Division Chief is responsible for supervising and directing activities of a division of approximately 47 employees, consisting of Assistant Attorneys General, civilian investigators, and support staff working throughout the Commonwealth. Primary responsibilities of the Division Chief include the day-to-day supervision of Division cases and work product, administration of approximately $8 million operating budget, and ensuring the Division’s compliance with federal performance standards. The Division Chief reviews and approves the use and issuance of all criminal and civil investigative processes, including grand jury subpoenas, search warrants, administrative demands, and civil investigative demands. The Division Chief oversees the development of investigative strategy and procedure, participates in the negotiation of civil settlements and criminal dispositions, and supervises all aspects of criminal and civil litigation of cases in both state and federal courts, including qui tam litigation. The Division Chief is responsible for proposing legislation and for making program recommendations to the single state Medicaid agency to facilitate the identification and prosecution of fraud, waste, and abuse within the Medicaid program. _Position Type_: Full-Time/Exempt.
