The Department of Mechanical Engineering ( MECH ) at CSU offers a curriculum that integrates exceptional classroom learning and in-depth engineering practice for an unparalleled educational experience. Made up of 46 faculty members, 13 staff members, 1,200 undergraduate students, and 150 graduate students, ME is one of the largest departments on CSU’s campus. State-of-the-art labs provide unmatched, hands-on experience to help undergraduate students conceptualize industry environments, and $18M in annual research expenditures provide groundbreaking opportunities focusing on health, materials, and energy, for graduate students to enhance their educational concentrations. The Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Lab ( OBRL ) is an interdisciplinary group of faculty from the College of Engineering, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, and School of Biomedical Engineering. The mission of the OBRL is to improve health, fight disease, and aid persons with disabilities through merging engineering and life/biological sciences. The faculty has special interests in the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, and neurological systems. This position will primarily involve orthopaedic and musculoskeletal research. Position Summary
The Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Laboratory ( OBRL ) within the Mechanical Engineering Department at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado seeks to fill a full-time (40 hours/week) professional Research Associate – Histologist to support a wide range of services within the histology lab. This position will complete both paraffin and resin histology while following FDA guidelines for Good Laboratory Practice Regulations (GLPs).
Required Job Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, histology, or other similar sciences.
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in research and/or histology.
+ Competence in GLP compliance.
+ Experience with orthopedic and resin histology techniques.
+ Legally authorized to work in the US by the desired start date.
Preferred Job Qualifications
+ Master’s degree.
+ Experience writing and publishing peer reviewed research papers.
+ HT or HTL certification.
