    Job Title: Experienced Console Installer

     

    Department: Boat Assembly / Rigging

     

    Reports To: Assembly Supervisor / Production Manager

     

    Job Type: Full-time

    Position Summary:

    The Experienced Console Installer is responsible for the precise installation and rigging of consoles in newly manufactured boats. This includes mounting consoles, wiring electronics, integrating controls, and ensuring all helm components function correctly. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of marine electrical and mechanical systems, and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Install center, side, or dual consoles according to production plans and engineering specs.

    + Rig steering systems, engine controls, throttle/shifter assemblies, and trim switches.

    + Wire and connect gauges, switches, electronic displays, and other console components.

    + Route electrical harnesses and cables neatly and securely, ensuring reliability and serviceability.

    + Seal and fasten consoles to decks with appropriate hardware and adhesives.

    + Conduct functionality checks for steering, electrical, and control systems.

    + Diagnose and resolve installation issues or malfunctions as needed.

    + Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and engine rigging teams to ensure smooth integration.

    + Maintain high standards for fit, finish, and overall appearance of the helm area.

    + Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

    Qualifications:

    + High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in marine systems is a plus.

    + Experience installing boat consoles or helm systems in a manufacturing or marine repair setting.

    + Strong understanding of marine wiring standards (ABYC knowledge is a plus).

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and assembly drawings.

    + Skilled with power tools, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments.

    + Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Physically able to stand, kneel, crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs in a production environment.

    + Team player with strong communication and organizational skills.

    Work Environment:

    + Indoor boat manufacturing facility.

    + May involve working in confined spaces and under time constraints to meet production goals.
