Job Summary
This role serves as a key leader in undergraduate student experience at the David Eccles School of Business, with a particular focus on academic engagement and support. Overseeing the four-year Business Scholars Experience course, academic success initiatives, and other academic opportunities outside the classroom, the Associate Director will guide the enhancement and synthesis of the undergraduate academic experience, with the support and oversight of Undergraduate Programs leadership. Working closely with Undergraduate Programs leadership, the undergraduate student experience team, and student service and academic departments, this role will contribute collaboratively to the integration and alignment of the holistic undergraduate business student experience.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the direction, development, and implementation of the four-year Business Scholars Experience course, in collaboration with Undergraduate Programs leadership.
+ Oversee undergraduate academic success initiatives, including managing the operations of the Business Tutoring Center, supervising one lead student tutor, and 7-10 student tutors.
+ Collaborate with the undergraduate student experience team to direct, develop, and implement an integrated student experience strategy, aligning curricular and co-curricular experiences to foster student learning and development.
+ Coordinate student engagement with academic opportunities including undergraduate research and the honors program.
+ Collaborate with the Goff Strategic Leadership Institute on the direction, development, and implementation of programming for the 20-student Rising Business Leaders first-year cohort.
+ Provide leadership and support within the undergraduate student experience team, including annual priorities, team morale, training, policy, and budget.
+ Foster & maintain partnerships with Undergraduate Programs offices and academic departments.
+ Deliver presentations to students, staff, and faculty, as needed.
+ May supervise professional staff, including recruitment and hiring, onboarding, retention, and performance management.
+ Support additional school-wide programming & initiatives as needed.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required.
Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred.
