    The UW Counseling Center has an outstanding opportunity for an Assessment Coordinator and Psychologist.

     

    This position provides short-term mental health counseling services and psycho-educational outreach to enrolled UW students.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Coordinate the psychological testing program at the Counseling Center, which includes testing for ADHD.

    + Train and supervise testing provided by doctoral psychology interns.

    + Provide initial consultation/intake, assessment, diagnosis, short-term counseling, consultation, and on/off campus referrals for UW students.

    + Support the mental health of individuals from underrepresented and marginalized communities to promote student retention and graduation.

    + Provide crisis assessment and intervention when students present in distress.

    + Provide professional consultation to UW faculty, staff, family and students regarding student behavior, mental health, and academic challenges to enhance the campus climate for student success.

    + Provide individual clinical supervision of doctoral psychology interns and teach training seminars on topics of expertise and interest.

    + Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment. Understanding the role of trauma (historical, community, family, and personal) in wellness and recovery is key. Cultural proficiency and expertise working with BIPOC students is required.

    + Be part of an interdisciplinary team designed to enhance the mental health of UW students, create a healthier and more inclusive campus climate, and to respond to mental health crises. This includes participating in committees or other center projects. **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

    + Doctoral Degree in Counseling/Clinical Psychology.

    + One year of experience (can include internship) providing mental health counseling with college-aged clients, preferably in a university counseling center.

    + Current licensure in the state of Washington as a licensed psychologist, or expectation that candidate is license eligible and will be a licensed psychologist within six months of hire date. **Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

    + Evidence of outstanding skills in clinical assessment, psychotherapy and counseling, crisis management, and psycho-education.

    + Experience providing psychological test batteries.

    + Demonstrated cultural proficiency and deep experience serving diverse populations.

    + Demonstrated commitment to racial and social justice.

    + Demonstrated skill in working well under pressure to prioritize and manage multiple clinical responsibilities.

    + Strong communication and interpersonal skills. **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    + Two-years post licensure in the state of Washington or another jurisdiction, which allows for clinical supervision of interns.

    + Experience working in a university counseling center.

    + Experience working with trauma.

    + Experience providing gender affirming care.

    + Experience providing treatment via telehealth technology.
