    Eagle Harbor Solutions,** a Koniag Government Services Company, is currently seeking a skilled Linux focused System Administrator who has an Interim Secret clearance to support **EHS** and our government customer. **This is a Remote opportunity.

    The Linux focused System Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT infrastructure, ensuring its operational efficiency, security, and reliability. Experience with AWS is a plus. This position offers the flexibility of working remotely. We offer a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, 401K, paid time off, and more.

    Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

    The Linux focused System Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of servers, networks, and cloud infrastructure. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

     

    + Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers, primarily RedHat-based systems.

    + Monitoring system performance and ensuring availability and security.

    + Troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

    + Implementing and managing system backups and disaster recovery plans.

    + Managing user accounts and access control.

    + Deploying and managing AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM).

    + Collaborating with the development and operations teams to support infrastructure needs.

    Education and Clearance Requirement:

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field; 4 years of experience can be in place of degree requirement.

    + Minimum of 4 years of experience in System Administration, with a focus on Linux/RedHat systems.

    + REQUIRES a minimum **Interim Secret Clearance** and eventually obtain a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance.

    Required Skills and Competencies:

    + Solid understanding of Linux operating systems and RedHat distributions.

    + Ability to troubleshoot system issues and performance bottlenecks.

    + Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.

    + Proficiency in Linux command-line interface and system administration tasks.

    + Familiarity with network protocols and services.

    + Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

    + Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).

    + Experience with server monitoring and log analysis tools.

    + Strong knowledge of security best practices for system administration.

    + Excellent communication and documentation skills.

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

    Desired Skills and Competencies:

    + Experience with AWS services such as RDS, VPC, CloudFormation.

    + Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

    + Knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL).

    + Experience with server hardening and compliance standards.

    + Understanding of ITIL framework and IT service management.

    + Ability to obtain AWS certifications and enhance cloud expertise.
