We are seeking a **Project Scientist (DD Project Scientist 1)** to join our Columbus, OH team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Staff Scientist will complete the necessary research and reporting to complete NEPA projects for HUD, USDA, HRSA, and other Federal Agencies as well as ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
+ Contacting government agencies and compiling associated documents
+ Conducting onsite inspections of undeveloped and developed real estate
+ Conducting wetlands and waters delineation field work, report writing, and permitting
+ Conduct T&E habitat assessments and species surveys.
+ Conduct wetland and stream assessments
+ Identify native and invasive plant species that are common in the US.
+ Report preparation.
+ Assist with budgeting and proposals.
+ Support other disciplines as needed.
Minimum requirements:
+ B.S. (or B.A.), preferably in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Geology, Planning
+ A valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
+ The position will require travel, potentially overnight and out of state work.
+ Applicants must meet requirements for employment in the U.S.
Technical requirements:
+ Knowledge and understanding of the NEPA process and completion of Environmental Assessments and similar documents.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, technical writing skills, and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
+ Ability to work on multiple projects and changing priorities without missing deadlines or losing sight of overall project goals.
+ Ability to lift heavy objects, traverse rough terrain, and experience in working in inclement weather with exposure to sun and cold
+ Ability to work independently with little direct supervision; self-motivated with sound professional judgement
Other miscellaneous qualities:
+ Experience with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments
+ Experience with GPS technology, ArcGIS and electronic field data collection
+ Experience with ODOT procedures and regulations.
+ Experience in Wetland Delineation Trade licenses for asbestos, radon and lead-based paint
