Job Summary and Qualifications
The Manager of Training and Development manages the efficient and effective development, maintenance and delivery of training programs and initiatives across specific business units and service lines for HCA’s Clinical Services Group (CSG). This position is responsible for working closely with subject matter experts to assure course content and delivery meets the needs of targeted audiences. The Manager leads a team of training professionals in executing project tasks within specified timelines and budgets while lending technical expertise for all aspects of curriculum design and delivery. As a member of a cross-functional leadership team, the Manager may participate in task forces, committees, or project teams to drive key business initiatives that align with company objectives.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
+ Researches and promotes best practices for effective learning design and delivery; assesses new training products, techniques, platforms, and services.
+ Strategizes and coordinates with training and development department leadership to integrate new standards, models, and operational improvements into the existing training programs.
+ Organizes, schedules and conducts annual and ad hoc training needs assessments as input to the strategic training and development programming.
+ Scopes training initiatives and recommends the most effective learning strategy and approach; ensures integration of adult learning concepts in program content and delivery.
+ Develops content and delivers and supports training initiatives for various groups using a variety of delivery methods (classroom-based, 1:1, self-instructional materials, job aids, virtual classroom, WebEx, etc.).
+ Ensures completion of all training administration activities associated with training delivery; provides training reports to leaders, as needed.
+ Works closely with subject matter experts to ensure course content and delivery models meet the needs of targeted audiences; analyzes and reports on training effectiveness and integrates training improvement strategies based on findings.
+ Designs, develops, and delivers education evaluations and learner assessments to measure the effectiveness of programs, learner competency and proficiency.
+ Manages projects and teams to meet timelines and budget expectations; communicates the status of departmental activities to the training and development department leadership.
+ Hires, supervises and mentors training and development colleagues; provides expertise to support other training and development resources.
+ Maintains current knowledge of all office operations, job specific requirements and related regulations.
+ Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
+ Adheres to all HCA Healthcare and CSG policies, procedures and practices.
+ Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION:
+ Bachelor’s degree in business, education or related field required.
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
EXPERIENCE:
+ Minimum 3 years management experience, specifically leading training activities and teams.
+ Healthcare industry experience preferred.
+ Experience in human resource functions of staffing, recruitment and training preferred.
