Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is searching for a **Principal** **Software Engineer** to join the Global C2 Solutions Business Unit in support of our programs, in Huntsville, AL. This candidate will support the Tactical Audio Products Team on the Network and Field Services program.

Basic Qualifications:

+ 5 Years with Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM); 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD

+ Active Secret Security Clearance

+ Experience developing full stack Java Applications

+ Experience developing embedded systems

+ Experience developing web applications using HTML, CSS and JavaScript languages

+ Experience with audio decoding and processing tools

+ Experience with UDP and TCP network messaging protocols

+ Experience with developing software requirements, architecture, and documentation

+ Experience with SCM tools (ex: Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)

+ Familiarity with Agile processes, including scrum

+ Security+ Certification

+ Availability to travel (10-20%)

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Experience with service-based development utilizing MQTT protocol

+ Experience with C and Bash languages

+ Experience with React and Springboot frameworks

+ Experience with GStreamer and FFmpeg

+ Knowledge of XML and JSON formats

+ Experience with Gradle build tools

+ DevSecOps experience with Jenkins, SonarQube, and Docker

Salary Range: $105,400.00 - $158,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
