Graduate Assistant | SGSHS Research Lab

The Graduate Assistant for the Saint Gianna School of Health Sciences Research Lab assists educational faculty in the school with duties related to research. This is an onsite position to be filled by a graduate level student for fall and spring semester.

Candidates will be invited to demonstrate a willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:

+ Maintains a code of conduct in keeping with the Benedictine values, institutional goals of the university, Standards of Professional Practice, and guidelines established by the SGSHS and University

+ Assist with creation of study recruitment materials

+ Format and edit data tables in APA and AMA style

+ Collate, edit, and maintain a compendium of SGSHS Research Lab resources on a Canvas page

+ Schedule and meeting coordination (for interviews/qualitative investigation)

+ Must be able to complete data collection, data entry, assistance with data analysis, and data management.

+ Must have familiarity with and ability to utilize varied data and form management systems: Microsoft Excel, SPSS, Microsoft forms, Qualtrics, qualitative software analysis tools, etc.

**Applicant at minimum needs to possess a willingness to be trained in qualitative/quantitative software for analysis.

+ Ability to complete comprehensive literature review and ability to write annotated bibliographies

+ Will need to attend monthly research lab SGSHS meetings and answer emails within 24 -48 hours from SGSHS faculty

Desired Minimum Qualifications, Education, and Experience include:

+ Student must be enrolled in a SGSHS graduate program

+ Required: Bachelor’s degree, completed coursework in statistics, current and satisfactory completion of CITI training

+ Recommended: Experience with research methodology and writing

+ Upholds and supports the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary

+ Supports the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.

+ Builds a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Saint Gianna School of Health Sciences and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict’s admonition that all be received as Christ.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

+ Ability to serve as a positive and identifiable ambassador of the university during contracted work times and throughout the school year

+ Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)

+ Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA
