    Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team!     This position will be responsible for working in a team environment, geared toward the Research, Develop and Engineer technologies for software and weapon systems.

     

    What will you be doing?

     

    This position will be a key member of the Weapons and Software Engineering Center. Duties include:

     

    + Provide experience with mechanical engineering support for the development of individual weapon components

    + Support all aspects of design, prototype, testing and manufacturing

    + Ability to work hands-on and collaborate with machine shop for prototyping

    + Prepare designs using 3D CAD(Creo) modeling software

    + Document designs using the Army’s design standards and GD&T

    + Write test plans and work closely with testing groups

    + Develop and present reports

    + Work with manufacturing teams to develop functional prototypes

    + Be able to support mature designs currently in production

    + This position requires travel up to 25%

     

    What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

    This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

    + Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process

    + Pass drug and alcohol testing

    + Must have good mechanical skills and experience

    + Self-starter and able to work autonomously

    + Experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD

    + Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

    + High standard of quality and efficiency

    + Familiarity with firearms and ammunition and plus

    + Effective communication and interpersonal skills

    + Knowledge of weapons and firearms a plus

    + Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly

    + Fluent in (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    + Must be a US Citizen

    + Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license

    + Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline

    + Past or present military personal are encouraged to apply

    + 3-8 years of experience with mechanical engineering or similar discipline
