    ADULT FAMILY CAREGIVERS NEEDED:

    Are you interested in opening your home and your heart?

     

    Berkshire Family and Individual Resources (BFAIR) connects elders and adults with disabilities to caring families in the community. Our Adult Family Care program gives you the support of a Case Manager and Registered Nurse, as well as ongoing education around caregiving. Caregivers receive a tax-free stipend, charges for care, 14 days of respite, and 24-hour on call system.

     

    Caregivers help people remain in the community, where the environment is very different from an institutional setting. Our interdisciplinary care team includes the person in care, the caregiver, a registered nurse and a case manager. The teamwork reduces stress for caregivers and improves overall quality of life for the person in care and the household.

     

    We currently have a need in the North Adams area for a gentleman in his 50's. This gentleman is warm and friendly and looking to leave a nursing home. He is looking for a family to welcome him back into the community. He will need first floor accommodations.

     

    We currently have a need in Pittsfield for an older gentleman in currently in assisted living and is in a day program during the week. He has a great sense of humor and loves nature. He is looking for a family with a yard and would love to sit on back porch with a coffee. First floor accommodations preferred.
