    Job Summary

    The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Atlanta Area School for the Deaf located in Clarkston, GA, is recruiting for a Aud/Speech Language Pathologist 1 who will serve for students who are deaf and hard-of-hearing. Under general supervision the Aud/Speech Language Pathologist 1 will report to the School- Level Superintendent. Duties include but are not limited to:

     

    + Provide speech-language therapy services, including developing and implementing objectives on students’ Individual Education Plans

    + Assessment

    + Therapy service provision within the classroom as well as therapy room, and provision of written documentation regarding student progress quarterly and annually

    + Responsible for assessment and treatment of speech, language and communication, voice, fluency and other related disorders.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

    + Certified in Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCCs)

    + Experience working with students with varying degrees of ability levels

    + At least Three (3) years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist

    + ASL proficiency at 3+ or above as measured by the American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)

    **Note: Applicants will be expected to exhibit the ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL) during the interview with an expectation of obtaining an ASL rating of 3+ or above within three years from date of hire.
