    Coweta Judicial Circuit (Coweta County) - Assistant Public Defender I

     

    The Coweta Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office (Coweta County) is seeking to fill one (1) Assistant Public Defender I position. Primary duties include representing indigent individuals with criminal cases in the Juveine Court of Coweta County. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. Applicants must be a current member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. Superior organization skills and a strong commitment to indigent defense are also required. Emphasis will be placed upon the candidates' demonstrated commitment to indigent defense. Preference will be given to candidates who have two or more years of criminal defense experience.     Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender I will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients.     Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university AND license to practice law in the State of Georgia OR eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination OR reciprocity (must obtain Law License). Note: Some positions may not allow the eligibility clause.
