Position Overview:
First Division Consulting is seeking a Senior Systems Security Engineer to support a Department of the Navy (DoN) customer in Dahlgren, VA. This role provides technical oversight of security and systems administration, including designing, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and managing security solutions in compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, STIG implementation, accreditation processes, and system audits, ensuring secure and compliant IT environments within DoD and Navy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Design, install, configure, and manage security solutions for Navy IT environments.
+ Conduct vulnerability analysis and risk assessments to identify and mitigate security threats.
+ Perform SCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) scans and implement DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to harden systems.
+ Execute virus and malware scans, ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
+ Support the accreditation and auditing of systems, maintaining compliance with DoD and Navy security frameworks.
+ Troubleshoot security incidents, access control issues, and system vulnerabilities to maintain a resilient IT environment.
+ Provide technical guidance and cybersecurity best practices to IT and security teams.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
+ Six (6) years of professional experience in IT security within the DoD or Navy.
+ Experience in:
+ Vulnerability analysis and risk assessments.
+ SCAP scanning and DISA STIG implementation.
+ Security incident investigation and remediation.
+ System accreditation and audits.
+ Active Secret Clearance is required.
+ One of the following IT certifications:
+ CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
+ CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
+ Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience with RMF (Risk Management Framework) and ATO (Authority to Operate) processes.
+ Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
+ Knowledge of SIEM tools, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and endpoint security solutions.
