    Job Summary:

    The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct the company’s information technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support service.

     

    The department is currently a department of 1. The new leader will be tasked with developing the department to better serve our growing business needs.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    + Leads development and implementation processes for the organization’s IT systems and department.

    + Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss.

    + Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure.

    + Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.

    + Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information.

    + Facilitates IT security audits or investigations.

    + Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers.

    + Coordinates multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP).

    + Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Hard Skills/Abilities:

    + Geographically distant, multi-site integration, management and support.

    + Operating systems administration and support:

    + Windows Server, Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android

    + Device hardware administration and support:

    + servers, laptops, desktops, & mobile devices

    + Networking administration and support:

    + Security appliances (SonicWall, Fortinet, Cisco, Sophos, etc)

    + Sired and wireless hardware (switches, access points, etc),

    + Virtual Private Networking,

    + Enterprise network architecture

    + Remote Monitoring and Management

    + Windows server functions:

    + Active Directory, File Sharing, Group Policies, User Management, etc

    + Windows Terminal Server

    + Microsoft Virtualization (Hypervisor) and virtual machine management

    + Cybersecurity: software, hardware, best practices, monitoring, prevention and response

    + Microsoft 365 administration and management, including but not limited to:

    + Users, Microsoft Office applications, Teams and Teams Voice

    + Azure Cloud administration and management, including but not limited to:

    + Entra, virtualization, storage, SQL, etc.

    + Microsoft Intune

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    + Hires and trains IT staff.

    + Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team.

    + Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

    + Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

    Required Foundational Skills/Abilities:

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Excellent analytical and management skills.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills.

    + Through understanding of IT and practical applications to support the company’s goals.

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required; master’s degree or MBA preferred.

    + At least ten years of experience managing an IT department.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    + Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

     

    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the wage range for this role is$110,000- 145,000.The rate range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Adaptec Solutions considers factors including, but not limited to experience and geographic location.
