    JOB SUMMARY:

    This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT and customer locations. A willingness to study and learn new skills and technical information related to the job is required. Field Servicemen troubleshoot and safely repair general heavy equipment drive-train components, electrical and hydraulic systems , a nd sta n d a rd machine repair s . You will work from an Ohio CAT service truck in the natural elements.

    COMPETENCIES:

    + General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude or experience with construction or heavy equipment , an d strong DC electrical and machine electronic systems knowledge are r eq ui red .

    + Must demonstrate ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates.

    + Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision —e xcellent verbal and written communication skills required. Strong computer and software skills are required .

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

    + High school graduate minimum, College and continued education in a technical field a plus. Experience related to construction or heavy equipment service and repair is required.

    + Valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record foll owi ng Ohio CAT standards (4 or fewer moving violation points).

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling

     

    Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting and climbing into machines

     

    Dexterity Normal

     

    Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists , and fingers.

     

    The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
