Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a compassionate and highly dependable Residential Program Counselor to join our Neurocognitive (TBI) Program team. In this therapeutic residential setting, you will support individuals with neurocognitive disorders in their day-to-day functioning, providing both behavioral support and guidance in daily living activities.

You’ll play a critical role in maintaining a structured, respectful environment while helping clients build and sustain the skills needed for greater independence and quality of life.

    What You’ll Do:

+ Maintain a therapeutic, structured environment aligned with client treatment goals

+ Assist in implementing and monitoring client rehabilitation programs for cognitive and physical needs

+ Model and coach independent living skills such as hygiene, socialization, budgeting, and time management

+ Supervise and document medication administration and maintain shift logs

+ Facilitate outings, activities, and program participation per the program calendar

+ Conduct safety drills, facility rounds, and room inspections to ensure cleanliness and security

+ Monitor visitor activity and maintain facility safety documentation

+ Support and attend required team meetings, supervision, and training

+ Adhere to schedule reliability, dress code, and professional conduct policies

    What You Need:

+ High school diploma or equivalent

+ At least 2 years of practical experience working with individuals with neurocognitive disorders

+ Experience supporting individuals with both cognitive and physical impairments

+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport and maintain professionalism

+ Basic computer skills and documentation proficiency

+ Must obtain AACBIS certification (within 18 months of hire) and maintain it annually

+ Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driver standards

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced, structured environment, including evenings and weekends as required

    Why This Role Matters:

+ This is more than a caregiving role—it’s an opportunity to make a direct impact in the lives of individuals with brain injuries and neurocognitive conditions. Your support helps bridge the gap between dependence and self-determined living.
