The Instructional Design and Technology Coordinator is responsible for researching, implementing and managing technical resources related to learning and development agency-wide. The incumbent will partner with training and development staff, subject matter experts and business areas to provide instructional design support and resources, ensuring training and development opportunities apply research based instructional design techniques, leverage adult learning best practices, and can be delivered via a variety of modalities. This position maintains current key contracts for tools and technical resources related to training development and delivery while continuously identifying the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems, working in collaboration with MNIT to research, explore, test, and implement innovative technical solutions for online, blended, hybrid, and face-to-face courses.

Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

+ Maintain current key contracts for agency-wide tools and technical resources related to training development and delivery.

+ Continuously identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems, collaborating with MN.IT to research, explore, test, and implement innovative technical solutions for online, blended, hybrid, and in-person courses.

+ Provide consultation and development to subject matter experts and business areas who are developing learning or skill building activities internally or externally.

+ Ensure training and development opportunities apply research based instructional design techniques, leverage adult learning best practice, and can be delivered via a variety of modalities.

+ Develops eLearning courses and digital instructional material according to established design.

+ Collaborates with training and development staff and/or vendors, as needed, to provide digital development of instructional material and eLearning courses.

+ Provides recommendations and establishes processes and tools to continuously improve development methods and outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience designing, developing, and implementing learning plans.

Experience must demonstrate:

+ Develop training plans, lessons, and activities using adult learning principles.

+ Knowledge and application of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.

+ Ability to analyze data to inform decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications

+ Knowledge of product management and agile development principles and practices.

+ **Knowledge of the DHS programs and divisions, DHS and MNIT’s mission, values, and activities.**

+ **Experience with instructional design multimedia tools such as Miro, Canva, Figma, InVision, Camtasia, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.**

+ Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
