    Description:

    St. Mary's Health Care System is currently recruiting New Graduate Nurses for various nursing opportunities to include Neuroscience, Orthopedics, Med/Surg, Emergency Department, Critical Care and Progressive Care Unit. The Nurse Extern II participates in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation; assists in coordinating the patient’s interdisciplinary plan of care; participates in providing patient and family teaching; utilizes an age-specific developmental approach in the care of patients from infants to geriatrics; maintains standards of professional nursing practice and collaborates with the health care team in promoting quality care for all patients. Job responsibilities may also include Unit Secretary or Clinical Technician duties. New Graduate nurses are automatically placed into the Nurse Residency Program upon passing NCLEX. Opportunities are available with St. Mary's in Athens, Good Samaritan in Greensboro and Sacred Heart in Lavonia.

     

    Successful completion of and have received an Associate or Bachelor’s RN Diploma from an accredited school of nursing program. Once the Nurse Extern II has passed and received the Georgia State Board RN License then the job title will be updated to Staff RN. BLS certification thru American Heart Association required.
