Editor, New Labor Forum (Communications Marketing Manager)

    POSITION DETAILS

The CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies is seeking an Editor who will oversee the operations of New Labor Forum, a journal with international reach and a subscriber base of over 10,000. NLF was founded by the Murphy Institute at the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies in 1997 and is published by SAGE Press three times a year, in January, May, and September. For over a quarter century, the journal has provided a place for labor and its allies to consider vital research, debate strategy, and test new ideas. Authors include leading scholars, journalists, and activists who examine a broad range of challenges that confront workers and working-class communities. Material published in the journal seeks to contribute to research, debate, and discussion among labor scholars and labor and social justice activists and leaders. It also enjoys wide use in Labor Studies classrooms around the country. To further increase the visibility and impact of the journal, we produce a monthly newsletter with an active subscriber base of over 3000 and a monthly podcast, Reinventing Solidarity, that features prominent scholars, activists, and artists who track, assess, and contribute to movements for social and economic justice.
