Job Description
The starting salary for this position is at $55,000 - $65,000. We take into consideration an individual’s background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of other benefits and earned time off that vary depending on part-time or full-time status.
1. Job Summary:
The Neighborhood Center Senior Director provides strategic and operational leadership for the day-to-day Neighborhood Center operations and regional strategic partnerships with affordable housing complex partners and non-profits. The incumbent provides positive and consistent leadership to team members, partners, participants, funders, and volunteers. The incumbent serves as the leader regarding the development of YMCA programs and partnerships within the designated focus areas and key strategic partners.
2. Essential Functions:
Supervises Neighborhood Center leaders that oversee Neighborhood Center operations which includes program quality, and strategic partnership development with affordable housing complex and community partners within the assigned service areas.
Achieves grant funded program goals for enrollment, retention and outcomes related to building a pathway out of poverty through youth success in school, building a social network of support for families and connecting community services and opportunities to youth and families.
Leads complex program evaluation and data collection processes for multiple stakeholders including state funding sources and key community funders and partners.
Manages all Neighborhood Center budgets to achieve or exceed goals while working cooperatively with Executive Director/VP of Operations.
Serves as lead operations partner with the Mission Advancement department for grants, major donors, and external relations for assigned Neighborhood Center service area.
Leads integration with Y association areas including cross-department collaboration and coordination with association initiatives.
Provides leadership to ensure recruitment and development strategies are in place for team members and volunteers.
Initiates innovative multi-location programs and initiatives that attract new funding and partnerships.
Leads risk management and safety compliance for affordable housing-based outreach programs including implementation of trainings and standard operating procedures.
Represents the Y on external boards and committees to drive collective impact. Articulates the YMCA’s mission and impact to funders, housing management and owners, school administrators, branch staff, Board Members, and community at large.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Executive Director or VP of Operations who reports to the Chief Operating Officer. The incumbent supervises Neighborhood Center leaders across multiple Neighborhood Center locations. The incumbent regularly interacts with Association staff, branch staff, members and participants and volunteers in the community.
4. Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of two (2) years of management experience to include supervision and budgets.
Proven management abilities in community and government relations; budget development and financial control; staff management and development; and volunteer development.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated maturity, good judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to think conceptually with good analytical skills and demonstrated assertiveness to manage the scope and diversity of the responsibilities.
Ability to handle multiple demands and priorities and achieve organizational objectives.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred
Prior fundraising experience.
YMCA Multiteam Leader certification with a strong understanding of the YMCA’s mission/vision.
Extensive professional experience in education or out-of-school time setting.
Prior experience managing grant funded program in a non-profit organization.
6. Work Conditions:
Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to travel locally for meeting, training and events.
