    The Pharmacy Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacist Hematology/Oncology to work in our UHealth Hollywood location. The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Also, an employee in this position transfers prescriptions, handles incoming physician calls, logs data into applicable databases, and performs drug utilization review.

    CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

    + Implements and maintains procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policies and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal.

    + Compounds and dispenses medications, as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients.

    + Calculates the volume of medication required to produce the desired results to ensure proper dosages.

    + Assesses the identity, strength, and purity of medications.

    + Reviews prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability.

    + Provides information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.

    + Analyzes prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions.

    + Maintains records, such as pharmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.

    + Advises customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies.

    + Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

    CORE QUALIFICATIONS

    + Pharm.D. degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy

    + Requires current licensure in good standing in the State of Florida

    + Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
