Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

Position Summary:

Provides professional nursing care for clinic patients receiving treatments and examination, according to established procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.

+ Orients, instructs and trains assigned personnel.

+ Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives and infection control policies.

+ Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment. Accurately records history and perform basic triage procedures per policy including accurate vitals.

+ Retrieves initial basic condition of patients and reports to appropriate practitioner.

+ Demonstrates sensitivity to patient's comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.

+ Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.

+ Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.

+ Monitors and ensures accuracy of recording on patient medical records. Maintains all required reports, records, statistics, etc.

+ Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and well maintained equipment.

+ Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.

+ Schedules all outside patient appointments per physician order and relays accurately to patients.

+ Take calls from hospitals/ nursing homes and relays appropriate information to practitioner in a timely manner.

+ Assures test results are received and relayed to patient in a timely manner.

+ Completes medical orientation checklist.

+ Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.

+ Attend meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.

+ Performs radiographic examinations as licensed by certification.

+ Maintains x-ray and other equipment in efficient operating order; performs preventative maintenance on a regularly scheduled basis; contacts outside service or clinical supervisor for major malfunctions.

+ Directs patients to radiographic room; prepares and maintains rooms.

+ Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

+ Collaborate with the patient, physician and other care team members as part of a team based approach to overall patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience:

One (1) year experience in medical office setting.

Licensure Requirement:

Successful completion of a state approved educational program in at least one Radiology modality. Must complete and pass state testing requirements to achieve “X-ray operator in an MD office” (MXRT) licensure in the state of Tennessee for applicable modalities. Considered limited scope. CPR required. Must hold CCMA or equivalent MA certification .
