Description
We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Risk & Control Analyst in the financial services industry based in Chicago, Illinois. As a Risk & Control Analyst, you will be tasked with evaluating and mitigating operational and financial risks, conducting internal controls tests, and collaborating with various departments to improve control procedures and maintain compliance.
Responsibilities:
• Execute internal controls tests to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies
• Identify and recommend corrective actions for control weaknesses or gaps to management
• Evaluate and document operational and financial risks across various departments
• Maintain risk and control documentation including procedures and policies, and act as the subject matter expert on processes, procedures, and operational reviews
• Prepare and present reports summarizing testing results, control gaps, and risk assessments, and track and report on remediation progress
• Suggest improvements to existing control procedures based on control testing and risk assessments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement control measures
• Work with various departments to understand operational risks and effectively communicate control deficiencies
• Monitor risk management trends and new regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing control effectiveness.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3 years experience in a Risk Analyst role or similar within the Financial Services industry
• Proficiency in Financial Services software
• Knowledge in AML - Anti Money Laundering procedures and protocols
• Proven experience in Auditing and Capital Management
• Ability to handle Claim Administration tasks
• Understanding of Banking Compliance rules and regulations
• Experience in Compliance and Compliance Risk management
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field is preferable
