Overview

Spirit AeroSystems designs and builds aerostructures for both commercial and defense customers. With headquarters in Wichita, Kansas, Spirit operates sites in the U.S., U.K., France and Malaysia. Responsibilities

Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment. Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding. Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent break downs of facilities, machinery, and equipment. Uses hand and power tools. Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment. Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications. Move and place in correct position heavy equipment, real property and installed property in accordance with established methods. Prepare machine foundations, assemble structures and install floor and overhead conveying equipment. Accomplish all necessary rigging. The Company will provide appropriate assistance in job training to enable employees to perform all necessary job functions including thefollowing:

+ Obtain and deliver material and equipment necessary to support plant maintenance and repair.

+ Work from diagrams, prints, specifications or verbal orders.

+ Use hand tools, powered tools and shop equipment.

+ Perform disassembly and assembly operations necessary to accomplish assignment.

+ Enter and retrieve data from the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and order parts required to accomplish the tasks (except as relates to inventory, store, record, issue and anyother duties related to material support technician.) In addition, each employee may be asked, on occasion, to complete other duties and responsibilities as required by Spirit leadership. Training and certification will be provided for the additional work when required
