Job Summary

Do you want to experience the incredible Alaskan outdoors? We’re constantly on the lookout for hardworking individuals who take the initiative to encourage others to greatness. A Laborer carries out manual tasks which contribute to the success of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines.

Main Responsibilities

+ Cleaning and preparing the construction site and pavement surfaces.

+ Keep equipment and tools in good working condition.

+ Shovel asphalt and other materials

+ Luting / raking asphalt and aggregates

+ Set-up and take down temporary work zones efficiently

+ Optimal traffic control in and around work zones (flagging) crafting a safe environment for traffic and onsite workers

+ Assist in backing and dumping of tri-axles and milling machines

+ Handling of hot liquid asphalt and various materials

+ Remove old asphalt, concrete and other materials using a jackhammer or cut-off saw

+ Erect and remove delineating devices such as barrels and cones

+ Seal end joints

+ Help fill water tanks on equipment as needed

+ Compact material with small hand rollers and vibratory plates

+ Perform other tasks as assigned

Education

+ High School diploma/GED

Skills

+ Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record

+ Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

+ Follow all DOT and company safety regulations

Environment

+ Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), as required.

+ Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)

+ Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain

+ Frequent exposure to loud noise

+ Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles
