    Distribution Systems Operator

     

    Eau Claire, WI

     

    System One is currently seeking a Distribution Systems Operator on a 12 month contract position located in Eau Claire, WI.

    Operator Responsibilities:

    + Real-time management and grid operation.

    + Handle outages and emergencies.

    + Provide clearance zones for crews to perform their work.

    + Create switch plans.

    + Maintain power to the public.

    + Manage the grid for approximately 300,000 customers in western Wisconsin.

    + The work is shift-based, requiring 24/7 monitoring, including nights, weekends and holidays.

    Operator Requirements:

    + This position requires shift work with a six-week rotation, including 12-hour shifts (5:30am to 5:30pm or 5:30pm to 5:30am) and an 8-hour day shift. Weekend shifts are 12 hours each. Overtime is possible, with some weeks requiring up to 48 hours of work.

    + Electrical engineering background.

    + Experience with grid management.

    + Knowledge of switch plan creation.

    + Familiarity with utility operations and applications like ACMS and OS.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Problem solving skills.

    + Decision-making skills.

    + Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    + Utility operations or control center operations.

    + Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

     

    Duration: 12 months

     

    Pay Rate: $65-70/hr
