Description
SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, provides direct counseling services to patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
+ Provides individual counseling and treatment/recovery plan preparation, monitoring and review
+ Provide therapeutic interactions to foster patient’s social, cognitive, and behavioral skill development
+ Provide psychosocial interventions to teach skills for coping with urges, craving, impulsive behavior and cognitive distortions in thinking, motivational interviewing techniques
+ Provide individual, group and family counseling, where appropriate
+ Plan and facilitate interactions with patients within the program to build social, emotional, and behavioral functioning
+ Prepare and maintain accurate and thorough case records
+ Maintain relationships with patient referral agencies
+ Complete utilization reviews in a timely manner to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION
+ High School Diploma or equivalent
+ Bachelors Degree a plus
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
+ Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in good standing
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
+ Minimum two years in a behavioral health/substance use disorder treatment program
WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
