    SUMMARY

We are a part of ITW Food Equipment Group, a collection of leading food service equipment manufacturers with shared goals for the highest quality commercial kitchen products.

     

    The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for developing innovative mechanical designs from concept to production, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions that meet industry standards and manufacturing requirements. This role requires expertise in **3D CAD modeling, sheet metal design and fabrication, engineering documentation, and the Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process** to support new product development and Customer back innovation.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Develop **concept designs** based on product requirements, engineering principles, and industry standards.

    + Create **3D CAD models** and detailed manufacturing drawings to support product development.

    + Design **sheet metal components and assemblies** , ensuring manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.

    + Work closely with fabrication teams to optimize **sheet metal fabrication processes** such as laser cutting, bending, welding, and assembly.

    + Generate and maintain **Bills of Materials (BOMs)** for new and existing products.

    + Ensure all designs are manufacturable and cost-effective by collaborating with manufacturing and supply chain teams.

    + Implement design modifications and improvements through the **Engineering Change Notice (ECN) process** .

    + Conduct design reviews and provide technical support to cross-functional teams.

    + Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless production and assembly.

    + Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and best engineering practices.

    + **Exposure to or experience in commercial refrigeration systems, components, and design considerations is a plus.**

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Work Experience

    + **Minimum of 3 years** of experience in **sheet metal mechanical design** , including knowledge of materials, bending tolerances, and design. **Heavy sheet metal design** **required** .

    + **Minimum of 3 years** of experience in **mechanical design** of **commercial kitchen equipment** **required** **.**

    + **Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.**

    + Proficiency in **3D CAD software** (such as SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA) for modeling and drafting.

    + Experience in generating **detailed manufacturing drawings and GD&T application** .

    + Knowledge of **Bills of Materials (BOMs)** **creation, management, and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes** .

    + Understanding of **Sheet Metal Fabrication required.**

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Exposure to **Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)** principles.

    + **Experience or exposure to commercial refrigeration design, including refrigeration components, heat transfer principles, and insulation materials.**

    + Familiarity with **industry standards and regulations** relevant to mechanical design and sheet metal fabrication.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Must be able to

    + Occasionally required to lift less than 20 pounds.

    + Stand and walk from two (2) to four (4) hours per day.

    + Climb up and down stairs two (2) to four (4) times per day.

    + Operate common office equipment, i.e. PC, phone, copier, printer, fax.

    + Use various measuring instruments.

    + Work occasionally in factory and warehouse environments that are not climate controlled.

    + Travel infrequently by various means of transportation, including car, train, bus, plane.

    Hours of Work

    + Monday – Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm

    + Infrequent weekends as work demands may require
