DUTIES:Responsible for maintaining inventory of automotive parts, completing major and minor repairs and routine maintenance of motor vehicles and buses, snowplowing,completing reports, emergency response, shop maintenance, and assisting Head Auto Mechanic as needed. Also responsible for fuel reporting and fuel island maintenance.SALARY:$17.86-$38.47 per hour, plus full-time benefits per the RHEA, Facilities & Mechanics ChapterQUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate's degree in Automotive Mechanics, plus one (1) year of full-timeexperience as an automotive mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic under the supervision of a journeyman level mechanic including diesel experience;OR, Three (3) years of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid experience as a journeyman level automotive mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic including diesel experience. Must have a CDL with passenger endorsement and 19A certification, or must obtain within 1 year of appointment. Must have own tools and ability to lift 75 lbs. Must haveability to work in unpleasant conditions including extreme hot/cold, fumes/odors, and wet or cramped areas.
